Hey y’all! Thanks for stopping by. I am a lover of all things home, but I am definitely NOT the perfect Suzy Homemaker. I recently left the corporate world after being in IT Sales for more than 10 years. Join me for DIY tips, tricks and fails while updating my 90s cookie-cutter colonial.
I am the wife to Adam, AKA, The Lumberjack. We met in college and lucky for me, he shares my love of DIY projects. We have one four year old son, Carter, the coolest kid ever (most of the time). I love Jesus, but I cuss a little, okay, a lot. I could survive on Diet Coke, Doritos and Oreo ice cream. Procrastinating is my super power and I can never resist a dance party with some good 90s hip hop.
DIY’ing has always been a passion and a way of life for us and I and I want to inspire others to get up and go for it! It absolutely kills me when I talk to people who hate their homes. Stop waiting for things to be perfect and make a change. In my opinion, perfection is the enemy of done. Small changes make huge a impact to the look of your home and I am here to prove it, step by step.
Although I love super perfect, beautiful, all white interiors, that’s not what you will find here. Frankly, I tried that look for our living room once and it lasted less than a month. Maybe someday, but the lumberjack is in construction and the 4 year old is all boy, so we have to be able to live here without replacing furniture and rugs monthly.
And, did I mention my obsession with bargains? That’s right, I love a good deal, and furnishing my home is no exception. It’s easy to pull together the perfect look with unlimited resources, but if I did that, what would my next project be? If you have that luxury, congrats, I would love to work with you, lol! But if not, this is the place for you. Phased design is an absolute must if you are working on a budget. In fact, the majority of the projects you will find here are somewhere in between phase 1 and done, but that doesn’t mean it has to look incomplete.
If you have recently purchased your first home, or you are tired of living in a house you don’t absolutely love, you are in the right place. Stick around for tips and tricks you can use in your own home. I will be sharing every room in my house, so stay tuned for lots of projects and hopefully, some inspiring before and afters.
